The Giussani Valley is made up of four villages including Musoléo, Olmi-Capella, Pioggiola and Vallica. The valley is located in the heart of the Corsican regional nature park, at an altitude of 900 meters. Only 45 minutes from Ile Rousse, you will be seduced by its charm and tranquillity but also by its landscape surrounded by two majestic peaks such as San Parteu at 1680 meters and Monte Padru at 2393 meters. A walk along the paths will allow you to discover the fauna and flora specific to the region as well as the rivers and Genoese bridges.
The villages of Ostriconi have an area of 169.95 km². They include the communes of Palasca, Novella, Urtaca, Lama and Pietralba. The last three communes were formerly served by the single narrow D8 road which linked them to the old RN 197. A new road called Balanina crosses them today, following the small coastal river Ostriconi to the sea. The Ostriconi river gave its name to the micro-region.
